Description

Supporting SEND in Mainstream Primary

A fantastic opportunity to join this FREE and brand new Work Group for Primary (KS1 or KS2) Maths Coordinators and SENCOs to work together to trial and implement the Teaching for Mastery approach, developing strategies to support students working at a level 2 or more years below their age-related expectations.

This is ideally suited to schools who already have an awareness of the Teaching for Mastery approach.

The Work Group comprises 4 afternoon sessions and will include development of resources to take back to school and a live learning walk at a Primary school (tbc) to observe a maths lesson.

The Maths Coordinator and SENCO from each school should attend all 4 sessions together and work together outside of the group to trial, implement and feedback on the ideas developed.

All Mondays, 2pm - 5.30pm at St Mary's CofE Primary School, Silkham Road, Oxted, Surrey RH8 0NP

30 March, 27 April , 18 May , 8 June 2020

2 participants (ideally Maths Coordinator and SENCO) from each school are required to attend each of the 4 sessions

All attendees are required to provide an NCETM User Name. If you haven't already, please obtain one by visiting NCETM Join

As with all our Free or Funded Maths Hub Work Groups and programmes, we are funded by the Department for Education and therefore have to prioritise State Funded schools. If spaces are still available we are able to offer these to Independent schools, however we will need to charge fees and these will be advised separately.
